After taking breaks from screen time and immersing myself in the great outdoors, I’ve personally experienced the negative impacts toxic technology has on your health.
Each and every time, I took a 3 day or weekly detox from the digital world, I felt more present, centered, clear, and in harmony with nature’s cycles. Regularly unplugging from the digital world truly showed me what I was missing out on: the wonders of the outdoors and the present moment. Not to mention I felt free from the afflictions that digital distractions often create. I found relief from the anxiety, brain fog, fatigue, and gloom.
And don’t get me wrong. Being informed about what’s going on in the world, connecting with distant friends, and sourcing inspiration from online creators has it's value. But when there’s time wasted with distraction, comparison, and compulsively feeling like you need your phone on your side, it can pull you away from your essence and the most precious gift there is: the present moment.
In my coaching career, I’ve seen the way my clients have struggled with these addictions. And as I deepened my relationship with meditation, traveled to various cities, and connected more with nature, I noticed how much better I felt when nourishing myself with a break from internet streaming.
